Edge Science

The Society for Scientific Exploration (SSE) publishes the excellent periodical, Edge Science, starting with Issue No. 1 (October, 2009) and continuing to publish through Issue No. 13 (January, 2013). Journal of Scientific Exploration (JSE)

The Society of Scientific Exploration (SSE) began publishing the Journal of Scientific Exploration (JSE) with (Vol. 1, no. 1 (1987) and has continued publishing through the present, with Volume 27 being for the year 2013. All major articles published in JSE for issues (Vol. 1, no. 1 (1987) through Vol. 23, #4 (Winter, 2009 ) are freely available as PDFs at the SSE website: http://www.scientificexploration.org/journal/articles.html

Please note, however, that these are not scans of the journal itself, but only PDFs of the major articles, and do not include the many interesting book reviews or other items that the whole journal included. Lexscien ( http://www.lexscien.org/lexscien/index.jsp ) has digitized the whole journal, but they charge a fee to access JSE, even to SSE members, although at a reduced rate for the latter. Lexscien also has certain limitations on accessing and downloading pages of this journal.

Journal of the Fortean Research Center (Lincoln, Nebraska)

The Fortean Research Center of Lincoln, Nebraska, was founded in 1982 by Dr. Raymond W. Boeche, and the Journal of the Fortean Research Center began publishing in 1986.The first issue, Vol. 1, No. 1, was published in April, 1986, and seventeen subsequent issues were published, with the 18th and final unnumbered "Special Issue" being published in May, 1995. The last numbered issue was Vol. 6, No.1 (Fall, 1994). The entire set of 18 issues (634 pages and 72MB) are available on Scribd.com at: http://www.scribd.com/doc/101580355/Fortean-Research-Journal-Ray-Boeche , but you have to register with Scribd in order to access it. It was uplodeed to Scribd by "crissy2012."

OMNI Magazine

This was a well know newsstand magazine published from 1978 to 1995 by OMNI Publications International, Ltd. in New York. It carried articles on many kinds of anomalies, as well as, speculation and futuristic articles. Vol. 1, no.1 was issued in October, 1978, and after 196 issues, ceased with Vol. 17, no. 9 (Winter, 1995). All 196 issues are available at: http://archive.org/details/omni-magazine

Pursuit

Pursuit was the journal published by the Society for the Investigation of the Unexplained (SITU), which was founded in 1965 by the internationally know naturalist and zoologist, Ivan T. Sanderson. SITU began publishing Pursuit with Issue No.1 (May, 1967) and the title simply as “Newsletter.” However, with Newsletter No. 3, the title “Pursuit” was added, and this remained the title through the 85th and final issue, Vol. 22, No. 1 (First Quarter, 1989). In 2012, John H. Reed,M.D.,  President of WISE, had this entire set of 85 issues digitized as PDFs, which included 3,402 pages and 146 Megabytes. All of these issues are freely available via the links below, but because of the massive size, they had to be divided up into smaller groups.

Science Frontiers

Science Frontiers was a bimonthly periodical published by William Corliss, one of the greatest researchers on scientific anomalies, and author of many reference handbooks, catalogs, and sourcebooks on anomalies of all kinds. Although Mr. Corliss passed away in August, 2011, his books and other items are still available for sale on the website of the Sourcebook Project, which he founded in the early 1970's: http://www.science-frontiers.com/ . Science Frontiers was published continuously for 34 years, beginning with Issue No. 1 (September, 1977) and ending with Issue No. 193 (January-April, 2011). Issues 1-139 are available on line in the form of PDFs of major articles they contained, and are not digitized scans of the periodical itself: http://www.science-frontiers.com/sfonline.htm ; The contents of issues No. 140-159 are also available at this same website. And issues No. 160-193 are not available online.

The "X" Chronicles Newspaper

The "X" Chronicles Newspaper is an monthly online and harcopy periodical focusing onthe paranormal, parapsychology,and New Age spiritualism. It began with with Volume 1, No. 1 in January, 1992 and contines to be published through the present, with Volume 18, No. 6 (June, 2012), being a recent issue. Many issues of this periodical are freely available on Scribd at the following website. Zetetic Scholar

This journal was published by the late Dr. Marcello Truzzi, a professor of sociology for many year at Eastern Michigan University, and who founded and ran the Center for Scientific Anomalies Research (CSAR) until his death in 2003. A total of eleven issues were published, beginning with Vol 1, no. 1 in 1978, and ending with Vol. 12/13 in August, 1987. There were two combined number issues that were published.
