The article presents a report from a September 29-30, 2017 conference in Lüneberg, Germany on the role of bankers in northeastern European economic, political, and cultural networks during the 16th-20th centuries. Topics of presentations delivered include the account books of the Loitz family as a record of their consumption, the history of credit and welfare policy in Danzig, Poland, and Polish debts to Dutch lenders at the turn of the 19th century.
