Various chapters highlight that developments in Amazonia satisfy the demands of urban and first-world consumers while leaving degraded ecosystems and a few crumbs for Indigenous peoples and local communities. Chapter 2, by M. A. Tiger and S. C. Slinger, is a handy overview of the constitutional rights of Indigenous peoples in Amazonian countries. Unfortunately, the editors' introductory and final chapters do not provide this kind of context to allow the reader to understand the Amazonia in the title of the book. [Extracted from the article]
