A 75-year-old man with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) exhibited lack of efficacy during treatment with carboplatin and pemetrexed. Additionally, he developed pleural tuberculosis while receiving pembrolizumab for NSCLC. The man had a history of smoking, dyslipidemia, and diabetes mellitus. After experiencing tumor progression with carboplatin and pemetrexed, he started receiving pembrolizumab and subsequently developed pleural effusion, which was found to be positive for mycobacterium tuberculosis. He received anti-tuberculosis treatment while continuing immunotherapy, and his tumor response persisted after two years of treatment. [Extracted from the article]
