In this article, master beliefs and narratives of traditional occupations were examined in the context of social group and occupational folklore. As we know, society consists of several groups and each group has some common values. Basic element in social group is tradition that reinforces group consciousness and provides the member of groups to come together. Beliefs, celebrations and entertainment style of group members can be evaluated in this context. A significant portion of social groups we meet in our social life constitute study groups in this article. As with other groups, some folklore products are created and transferred in the occupational groups. Concept of occupational folklore used as a "occupational folklore" or "occupational folk life" in folklore research in Europe and America contains tangible and intangible values of folklore in both traditional and modern profession. Beliefs and narratives of master coming first, there are also many other folklore products which can be evaluated around these concepts in working life in Turkey. When master beliefs and narratives still living in traditional occupations are analyzed, it is seen that they keep alive the group consciousness among profession members, they also make the profession to gain prestige and they positively influence professions by motivating them in working life.
