The article presents a study on the presence and severity of depression in immigrant Chinese Australians with diabetes in connection with sociodemographic and diabetes-related factors. It discusses the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) and a questionnaire to determine sociodemographic variables such as ability to speak English and length of stay since immigrating. Results found depressive symptoms among Chinese Australian people with diabetes and a higher risk among socially isolated ones.
