Oriented thin film s were fabricated on substrates from a conducting polymer, poly(p-phenylene) (PPP), by the friction transfer method. When these film s were immersed into a benzene polymerization reaction solution, newly polymerized molecules were deposited on the friction-transferred film s as orienting templates. We call this process "homoepitaxial polymerization". We investigated the dependence of thickness and orientation degree l the polymerized film s on various reaction conditions, such as catalyst concentration, monomer concentration, reaction time and reaction temperature. The mechanism of oriented growth of the PPP film s is discussed. Moreover, homoepitaxial polymerization of polyaniline (PANI) was examined with friction-transferred PANI as a template, for which an acceleration of the polymerization on the surfaces of the friction-transferred film s was observed. We call this "surface-enhanced polymerization". These processes are useful for the formation of patterned conducting polymers films. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
摩擦転写法により導電性高分子ポリ(p-フェニレン) (PPP)の配向薄膜を基板上に作成した.これをテンプレートとして,その表面に配向膜を新に形成するホモエピタキシャル重合について,触媒濃度,モノマー濃度,反応温度,反応時間の反応条件を検討し,膜厚や配向度との関係を調べた.この結果から重合反応時の配向膜の成長メカニズムを検討した.さらにポリアニリン(PANI)についても同様に摩擦転写膜をテンプレートとしたホモエピタキシャル重合を検討し,配向膜が得られることがわかった.さらにPANIでは摩擦転写膜上で重合反応が促進される現象が見られた(表面誘起重合).これがパターン化した導電性高分子膜の作製に利用できることを示した.
