Since leaving New Order nearly a decade ago, bassist Peter Hook has managed to chart his own course with the band's era-defining music. With his touring outfit, Peter Hook & the Light, the 62-year-old British pop icon has meticulously worked his way through the back catalogs of his former groups, New Order and Joy Division, playing their full albums in sequence. Hook has now moved on to the "Substance" albums, performing the singles compilations in full, tearing through hits like "Blue Monday," "True Faith" and "Love Will Tear Us Apart." He spoke to The Chronicle from his home in Manchester. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
