A biography Reverend Jacques Mourad, the Syrian Catholic priest who was kidnapped by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), tortured and held in prison during Syria's civil war before escaping and forgiving his captors, is presented. Information is provided about Father Mourad's study of theology in Lebanon, his work with the villagers of Qaryatayn in Syria in 1996 to restore the monastery, the kidnapping of his parishioners and their release after an agreement with the ISIS.
