Über mehrere Jahrhunderte dänisch regiert, wurde Norwegen 1814 mit Schweden vereint. Die Jahrzehnte bis zur Unabhängigkeit 1905 waren geprägt von der Suche nach einer nationalen Identität und dem typisch Norwegischen. Nicht zuletzt betraf dies auch die im 19.
