Over the last years, the Anglo-Norman medieval worlds have been a fertile ground for research into medieval historical writing, whether through the practices of leading authors (Dudon of Saint-Quentin, Orderic Vital, William of Malmesbury, Robert of Torigni, Gervais of Canterbury, etc.) or through those of anonymous authors, which also enable us to question the boundaries between historical genres. Based on some recent publications, this "point of view" aims to draw out some of the major current dynamics, to bring together work carried out on both sides of the Channel and to place it in a wider context, at the crossroads of historical and literary studies.
