On March 21, 2024, more than 40 groups protested the false promises and nuclear fairy tales at the International Atomic Energy Agency's Nuclear Energy Summit in Brussels. The protesters issued a declaration signed by 621 organizations from around the world and published a parody handout that criticized nuclear power. At the end of the summit, the IAEA and 34 countries pledged to work towards unlocking the potential of nuclear energy, but a panel of bankers declared nuclear energy too financially risky. The article presents a fictional story about a Piper who promises the people of Nukeland warmth and light through nuclear power, but fails to deliver on his promises, leaving the people in the dark and causing harm to their health. The article suggests that renewable energy sources like solar and wind power would have been a better alternative. [Extracted from the article]
