The article explores the speech in the claim of discrimination criticism of teacher training participants. Dealing with discriminatory swear words emerges as a pedagogical challenge that demands a negotiation of intervention possibilities. In the reconstructions of the empirical material, the significance of categories such as (ir-) rationality and anger becomes apparent. Pedagogical intervention possibilities that unfold in the participants’ speech acts are thereby closely linked to questions of personal vulnerability and pedagogical responsibility. Against the background of the reconstructions, the article raises the question to what extent the thematization of vulnerability can and should become a de-immunization strategy that goes beyond a role-based pedagogical action oriented towards sovereignty. This strategy aims to develop sensitivity to the suffering of others. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
