The article presents information on an activity program of children related to field excursions and industrial work. The first excursion was made to the lakeshore north of Chicago, Illinois which is a type of wearing coasts. The students collected various types of soil, plants, and animals. The second excursion was to a desert. The students made collections of soil, plants, and animals. The plant life was represented by swamp grass, cat-tails, duck-weed. The lives of frogs, toads, snakes, crayfish, mosquito larvae, ants, fish, and snails were observed. The children explored various things including the animal's home, how they made it, their food, and how they obtain it. The third excursion was to a large farm. Before starting the third excursion the children were instructed by Chairmain of the committee on field excursions Ira B. Meyers. The students went equipped with notebooks and pencils.
