The article discusses on the different methods used for water and wastewater disinfection, in the U.S. The first methods is the traditional residual monitoring and testing procedures, which measures the quantity of chlorine present in water. The second method is the oxidation-reduction potential (ORP), which looks at the qualitative measurement of chlorine, and the last method is the dual oxidation control, which combines the quantitative value of the residual measurement with the qualitative measurement of the efficacy of the disinfection program.
