The article discusses the stakeholder theory and its importance in the business ethics. According to the theory, the interest of stakeholders like suppliers, customers, investors, and employees is of much importance to the business managers to conduct the affairs of the business. Experts state that it provides the guidelines to managers to maximize the shareholder's return. It is stated that the primary aim of the theory is to develop solutions to ethical dilemmas that tend to arise in an organization such as the needs and interests of all stakeholders. Critics state that the normative version of stakeholder theory is superficially a more attractive model than shareholder theory for advancing ethical behavior.
