The article presents a biography of German cultural historian and writer Arthur Moeller van den Bruck, who was a conservative opponent of parliamentary democracy, liberalism, and Marxism, while a staunch nationalist, who wrote the controversial book "Das Dritte Reich" ("The Third Reich"). The author examines the reception of Moeller van den Bruck's ideas and work in the Weimar Republic, which he strongly opposed before taking his own life in 1925, as well as later historical appreciation and appropriation of his work.
