The article presents a biographical sketch of Friedrich Klemm, a 20th century German historian of technology and the application of the natural sciences. Klemm worked as a scientific librarian following his history of science and library science studies at the Technical University of Dresden, Germany, and he was eventually responsible for expansion of the Bibliothek des Deutschen Museums, in Munich. Klemm's unfinished "Technik der Neuzeit" is said to show National Socialist influences, while his postwar volume "Tecknik" is said to have cemented his scholarly reputation.
