In his article, Michael Schneider gives precise details about two works from the collection belonging to Aloys Thomas Raimund Graf Harrach (1669-1742), a politician involved in foreign affairs in the service of Kaiser Karl IV, who displayed an avid interest in the recorder and commissioned compositions for himself from renowned contemporary composers: At the New York Public Library, the researchers Johannes Pausch and Stcffen Voss, both based in Hamburg, were able to trace a concerto in F major for recorder, strings and basso continuo by Johann Friedrich Fasch and a concerto for recorder, bassoon obligato (or/ossia cello), strings and basso continuo by Matthäus Nicolas Stulick, both acquired by the Library in 1956, immediately extending the repertoire for recorder by two extremely interesting works. Both works are available as sheet music (Edition Musiklandschaften Hamburg) and also on CD with Michael Schneider and the Cappella Academia Frankfurt (cpo 777 534.2). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
