In this article, the authors focus on the effect of OsJARl rice genome on the biosynthesis of the jasmonoyl-isoleucine (JA-Ile) related to in defense responses in rice. They inform that osjarl mutant has been impaired in JA-induced expression of JA-Ile responsive genes. They mention that the mutant is more susceptible to blast fungus and JA-Ile is indispensable in the production of a flavonoid phytoalexin.
