This document presents the programme of national accounts data delivery within the framework of the new European System of National and Regional Accounts (ESA 2010), as defined in Annex B of the Council Regulation (EU) No 549/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 21 May 2013 (cf. also Article 3 of this regulation). ESA 2010 is the newest internationally compatible European Union (EU) accounting framework for a systematic and detailed description of an economy. ESA 2010 was published in the Official Journal on 26 June 2013. It will be implemented as from September 2014; from that date onwards the data transmission from Member States to Eurostat will follow ESA 2010 rules. This transmission programme has been the subject of numerous discussions within the group of Directors of Macroeconomic Statistics (DMES) and the National Accounts Working Group (NAWG) as well as with users. The programme lays out for each table; aggregate and variable, the deadlines and frequency of transmission as well as the date of the first delivery. The classifications supporting the transmission programme are fully described in Annex A of ESA 2010 and are wholly compatible with those used in the statistical framework of the United Nations (UN). This is particularly important for the classification of activities derived from statistical classification of economic activities in the European Community (NACE) revision (Rev.) 2, and for the associated classification of products based on Classification of Products by Activity (CPA) 2008. NACE Rev. 2 is compatible with the International Standard Industrial Classification of All Economic Activities (ISIC) Rev. 4 to the fourth digit and the CPA is linked to the UN Central Product Classification (CPC Rev. 2) at the most detailed level (six digits). In the application of the transmission programme, particular emphasis has been given to the electronic transmission and exchange of data based on the Statistical Data and Metadata Exchange (SDMX) standard. This approach will reduce the workload of Member States in transmitting data to international bodies, while reinforcing consistency as the data transmission is integrated with international partners, in particular the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the UN
