Einzeltreffer — DigiBib

L'article décrit les difficultés rencontrées par les bibliothèques et centres d'information des ambassades américaines dans le monde ces trente dernières années. Ces bibliothèques, qui fournissent toutes sortes d'information sur la politique, le gouvernement, les lois, l'économie, la société, la culture et les arts des Etats-Unis, constituent parfois l'un de seuls points d'accès à l'information. Les témoignages de 17 responsables de divers centres d'information rendent compte des réponses et des solutions développées pour s'adapter aux changements intervenus dans les pays concernés, qu'ils s'agissent de guerre, d'insurrection civile, de contrôle de l'information par le gouvernement ou des nouvelles technologies. Les pays concernés sont : Sierra Leone, République Démocratique du Congo, Togo, Kenya, Afrique du Sud, Chine, Indonésie, Corée, Belgique, Russie, Italie, Géorgie, Pologne, Péninsule Arabique, Jordanie et Liban, Colombie, Argentine, République Dominicaine.
