The Berlin State Library - Prussian Cultural Heritage holds one of the most important collections of Hebraica in Germany, on par with the collections in Munich, Hamburg and Frankfurt am Main. This article provides an overview of the collection and the state of its catalogues and deals in particular with the most recent conversion projects. Due to the complexities of Berlin's history- e.g. library evacuation during the Second World War and political division of the city until 1990- the collection has not yet been fully reviewed and catalogued. And this goal will not be achievable with the current library budget. A solution can only be found through closer cooperation with the academic research establishment and between research libraries themselves. A first step will be the development of a regional union catalogue of Judaica for the region Berlin-Brandenburg.
