The paper describes the types of usage of a stressed da ‘yes’ in spoken Russian. The author analyzes the data of the Spoken Subcorpus of the Russian National Corpus and the materials of the pilot version of the Multimodal Russian Corpus. The usage of da is compared to the usage of net ‘no’, and the author tries to build a hierarchy of the meanings of da. The paper distinguishes standard and non-standard usages of da. As a conclusion the author states that da is polysemantic in contrast to net, and that the semantic structure of da is by far more complicated.
