This case study describes a two year co-development project involving BMJ Group and HighWire Press to redesign and migrate the company's flagship website, bmj.com, to Drupal. The new site went live in November 2011. The project achieved its five main objectives: (i) to boost discoverability of new content; (ii) increase user engagement; (iii) increase traffic; (iv) promote the site's channels (research, education, comment, news, multimedia, specialties); and (v) drive referrals to other BMJ Group product sites.
