In 2012 the Austrian National Library presented, under the title Vision 2025, its long-term future strategies. The purpose is to give a presentation directed at the broader public of its future tasks in tomorrow's dynamically changing digital knowledge society. Starting from central values of society, five core functions of a national library in tomorrow's world are described and illustrated with vivid examples.
