Libraries have to adapt their services to the needs of their target groups. The author analyzed more than 2 000 requests which clients addressed at the cooperative digital reference service DigiAuskunft via e-mail or web form. Requests were classified according to the type of the required information, which area of expertise they derived from, which user groups they came from and at which times they were mostly sent. It was also analyzed how many questions were suitable to be forwarded to the network in the context of the cooperation. As a result, recommendations for libraries are given.
