Collective actors such as unions and self-employed collectives use law to assert workers' interests. This raises the question of how they can mobilize law without perpetuating inscribed social inequalities. We have therefore analysed how they work with gendered law and (re-)produce gender perceptions in this process. Three modes of thematization can be identified: group-related mobilization of legal gender categories, generalized legal mobilization without gender reference, and ref lexive use of gender categories. This third form is characterized by a discursive access, which, with the language of law as well as in talking about law, makes it possible to draw attention to processes of attribution and power inequalities.
