The article "Who is the Devil in the Liturgy? ... and why we need him" by Piotr Kubasiak discusses the significance of the devil in the liturgy. It points out that while the devil is accepted in today's culture, he is often considered unacceptable in the liturgy. Three reasons are given for why we should engage with the devil: to understand the history and culture of the Western world, to imply central themes of Christianity, and to be part of the Christian tradition. The article also addresses the devil in the baptismal ceremony and explains that exorcism and renouncing the devil are important elements of baptism. It is recommended to focus on asking God for protection from evil rather than directly addressing the devil. [Extracted from the article]
