The article "Turning Point in Foreign Policy" by Petra Erler discusses the adoption of neoconservative ideology in Germany under a red-green-yellow government. It argues that this ideology is aggressive both externally and internally and is based on US hegemony. The policy has already decided on economic sanctions against Russia, which could lead to a proxy war. The prevailing worldview is based on Western superiority thinking and ignores other perspectives. The article also deals with the German discussion on Nord Stream 2 and Germany's change of course after Russian aggression against Ukraine. It argues that German politics is no longer guided by the ideals of European unity and the Basic Law, but by a hostile-minded US president. Germany and the EU's policies are described as militarized and aggressive, while Russia is portrayed as stronger and more dominant in the military arena. It is pointed out that the war in Ukraine has led to a significant loss of life and refugees, and that peace could have been possible if negotiations and a new security architecture had been pursued. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
